I graduated from Newcastle University in 1987 and after much travelling around the world with jobs lined up in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore decided that Newcastle was to be our home and settled with Gill here on Osborne Road in Jesmond to establish Simpson and Nisbet Dental & Implant Clinic.
We have now been here over 20 years but still feel like we are settling in! I have a keen interest in dental implants (getting referrals from outside dental practitioners) having been involved with extensive postgraduate training at the University of Sheffield. I also enjoy all aspects of cosmetic work, sedation and facial aesthetic work.
Being a family man with a brood of three, the little spare time I have left is spent on Ashtanga yoga (not for the faint-hearted!), tennis and planning our next global trip.

Being the other half of the Simpson and Nisbet name I have particularly enjoyed watching our Dental Centre grow to the modern and highly respected practice that it is today. I am excited by the great plans we have for progressing the Dental Centre for the benefit of our patients including the introduction of the new role of Patient Care Co-ordinator, being on Facebook and Twitter and the new look interactive website.
I feel that all these new touches along with great dentistry will further cement our reputation as a leading centre of dentistry in the North East. My enjoy all aspects of general dentistry but I get particular satisfaction in creating beautiful smiles!
When not busy with anything dental I am at home running around after three dependant offspring or running after a tennis ball on the court. I have recently taken up Ashtanga yoga and am proud of the fact that I can perform headstands!

Hello, I’m Faye, I’m one of the Dental Hygienists here and have been for over 22 years.
Those of you may remember me as I began my career working with John as his nurse, over 12 years ago. I have also spent over ten years working at Newcastle Dental Hospital as a tutor for hygiene therapy students, which I fully enjoyed.
My home life is equally as busy as I have three feral children and three wild dogs to run around after, all alone I may add as my partner leaves me for six months of the year to travel seas as he is in the merchant navy.

I love my job, I work as part of a great team, meeting and speaking to the many patients here. When I am not at work, I am busy looking after my family. I am married to Simon and have two young boys, I enjoy socialising and going to the gym.
Practice Manager
GDC No. 161627
Hi, I’m Rebecca, most people call me Rebs and I’m the Practice Manager at Simpson and Nisbet Dental Centre. Since joining the practice in April 2009, I have covered a few job roles from Dental Nurse to Treatment Coordinator to now Practice Manager. Because of my history working here, I feel I can relate to all staff members and the job role they now find themselves doing as I’ve been there, done that, got the t-shirt so to speak.
My role as Practice Manager can be hard at times as any issues land at my door, but it can also be very rewarding to know that you are leading a team who are happy in their jobs. I feel that with Natalie, as the longest standing members of staff we set an example for the rest of the team.
As cheesy as it sounds we are like a family, it’s nice to have a comfortable environment to work in as I spend so much time here. We all especially like to wind up John as he falls for it every time but occasionally he does manage to get his own back!

Hi! I’m Natalie also known as Nat. I joined the team in September 2004 and have been here ever since! As I have been here so long many of the patients are friends and it’s lovely to catch up with them during their visits to our dental centre.
I can be found all over the practice stepping in and out of others shoes! I may be greeting you at reception or making your treatment run smoothly in the surgery.
During my spare time, I can be found at soft play with my two little ones or running around the park, unless it’s a sunny day then I’ll be in the garden with a glass of prosecco!
