Veneers in Newcastle upon Tyne

Veneers creating a new you!

When it comes to Veneers, we have seen in the past TV shows which have shown the power that a beautiful smile can create.

When we are getting photographed many of us keep our mouths closed as we are self-conscious of yellow teeth, crowded, chipped or uneven teeth.

Over the past few years with more and more celebrities having cosmetic dental treatments to improve their smile.  Veneers themselves have become more and more popular.

The white porcelain which is bonded to the tooth after the cosmetic dentist has prepared the tooth. Veneers offer a great alternative for natural-looking teeth rather than false teeth.

porcelain-veneers-maintenanceChoosing the right company to carry out your dental work is very important.

You need a good-quality veneer that fits well and is comfortable to wear which is put in by a qualified cosmetic dentist with ideally years of proven experience in the industry.

For your information, they can vary quite a lot from cheaper poor-quality porcelain that lacks durability. Through to high-quality materials which are used to create an individualised veneer or a set of veneers.

Colour matching can often be a challenge especially when only one veneer is being placed. Patients can go directly to the laboratory to ensure a good match.  Simpson and Nisbet, we do our best to ensure that the end look of your veneers looks great and they help give you a smile to be proud of.

We believe that personal recommendation is the best source of most of our work. Therefore we work closely with our patients through each step of the process and ensure they know the difference in quality of our products. We also after great aftercare for all our cosmetic dentistry patients.

If you are having veneers that cost less than £500 it would not cover the costs of a good laboratory never mind attention to detail. Therefore you need to ensure that you are not just paying for Veneers with a good cosmetic dentist. However, you are getting a good quality product as well which will last for years to come.

How many times have you smiled into the mirror and thought that your teeth just were not as good as they could be?  Perhaps they are chipped, stained, are slightly crooked or have big gaps.   Have you ever thought of looking into Veneers as an option?

If you have stained teeth there are different teeth whitening technics you could try such as Zoom 3 Teeth Whitening. Whitening does not always produce the exact results that people want or hope to achieve.  If your teeth are crooked, you can look into orthodontic work.  However, this can be a long process and not everyone feels comfortable wearing braces unless they really need to.

What you want is something that will make a visible difference to your teeth without it being too much of a major treatment – this is where we find patients tend to opt for dental veneers.

Veneers different types – choices available

Veneers Different Types Of Options For Patients

Veneers different types available for patients.  If you have broken, uneven or discoloured teeth, one of the options possibly available to you will be veneers.  This solution for patients is becoming more and more popular, especially with the growing number of celebrities on the TV with that perfect smile.

What are Veneers?

Veneers are very thin shaped pieces of porcelain which are attached to the front of your teeth, just like a false fingernail fits over a nail.

Sometimes other natural colours ‘composite’ materials are used instead of porcelain.  Therefore its best to check with your Cosmetic Dentist that is carrying out the treatment, which product they are using before treatment.

Below is an overview of some of the products available on the market today!

Veneers different types available in the market today

The Porcelain Veneer

Porcelain veneers over the years have been the most commonly provided veneer generally in the UK.

They can be used to change the  shape, position or colour of the teeth and help reduce or close gaps between the teeth.  The traditional porcelain veneers are produced in a dental laboratory with precision models of your teeth. These are taken from impressions of your teeth, by your cosmetic dentist as part of your treatment.  Often with these type of veneers, preparation of the underlying tooth is required to help place the veneer.  Depending on the situation sometimes no preparation work is required, at Simpson and Nisbet our Cosmetic Dentists would discuss this with you after the initial assessment.

The Composite Veneer

These are created using the same materials that are used for cosmetic bonding and often white fillings.

The composite veneers are not as hard wearing in the longer term as the porcelain veneers. Therefore you can expect to have these replaced after as little as five or six years on average.

Whilst with porcelain veneers the lifespan is much longer and they tend to last around 15 years.  The composites are generally provided directly by your Cosmetic Dentist in one to two visits. Basically, the composite is applied to the tooth surface and then polished to create the veneer surface.

No Preparation Veneer

This product advances in porcelain technology.   Basically, it allows cosmetic dentists to make a thin porcelain veneer that can be bonded to the teeth without any of the tooth being removed.  This is very new on the market, therefore there is no scientific evidence to show how long these will actually last.

Other Complementary Treatments

In addition, sometimes other complementary treatments are considered in conjunction with the procedure.

For example invisible braces such as Clear Step or Invisalign to help straighten crooked teeth.  This, in turn, can also help reduce the amount of tooth preparation needed and keep the veneers thin and natural looking.
